Fun Follow Friday! and ICAN Shred Day 3...

And damn it I forgot to go badge collecting again!! Now that my internet is (somewhat) better since the repairs I should really get them all and save them for once! Later though....

Today was a busy day! We headed out to the insurance office (time to sign a new form for the next 12 months....hey, at least I only have to do it twice a year!), then we made a trip Inside The Perimeter (ITP) to check out Phoenix and Dragon. I would link to their site, but every time I tried earlier it timed out. I picked up a book, a candle, some charcoal disks and a small package of feverfew.

Then we headed over to pinkberry, to meet a friend, it was yummy! From there we hit up Borders and I picked up a few more books, including Spiritual Midwifery. I think I'm the only person I know (birth junky type) that still has not read this book. I passed up on my last chance to borrow a copy years ago, and have never taken the time to purchase it since then. But I saw it today, so I knew I should get it. (shhhh I even put it back for a moment....)

I'm just about to head into the kitchen to make dinner for the kids, I just did Day 3 of The Shred through the ICAN Shred challenge. I'm not too sore, but sore enough to know I'm doing some good, and to know when I'm slacking off!!

Sigh, well, here come hungry little ones, and no dinner started, I guess there will be more on the shred later.

The Shred - Day 2

I am starting to feel it in my abs and my shoulders are most definitely sore!!! Bu I sis level 1 again this evening...only 28 more to go!!!!!

ICAN Shred

What an exhausting night!! My daughters pull up decided to stop holding anything at 11pm, and I had to do what I could to cover the bed and her for the rest of the night. I should have just taken her to bed with me. She woke almost every hour after that...and as a result, I am sporting a migraine. I've been up for the last hour, but have been completely useless.

Which really kinda sucks! Yesterday I started Jillian Micheal's 30 Day Shred. The amazing women at ICAN of Atlanta are holding their own 30 day challenge, and I decided to join them, quite last minute!! I have the DVD, but I need to get something or make something for weights.

Last night was Day 1, I doubled up on the support, laced up my shoes and proceeded to spend the next 25 minutes getting just as good, well, probably WAY BETTER, of a work out than I get when I run. I am excited to feel and see the results. They should come quickly! I took pictures, and some measurements, the pictures I won't be sharing with you for a while ;)

But I will share:

Upper arms - 11 inches

"belly" - 37 1/4 inches

hips - 36 1/2 inches

butt - 39 inches

thighs (together) - 37 inches
           Left 22 inches - Right 22 1/2 inches

I don't know if those measurements make any sense, I just looked in the mirror and measure around the bigger parts. I did take bust measurements, but I'm not unhappy with my size there ;) I'm actually looking forward to working out again, but first I must get rid of this headache, hydrate and eat something!!!

No Net, but Nummy Noms!

Our internet has been down since late Friday, and went down before I could even attempt to blog hop. I'm so sorry I missed that this week. But, I did manage to catch this blog post from The Foodie Mommy. And not only did it look delicious, but I saw it after I went grocery shopping, and yet, I had everything I needed.

After I pounded the chicken, I had my husband cut away the bits of fat that weren't trimmed off, and he cut it into a few smaller pieces so they fit better in the pan.

Coated them each generously in pesto/basil, and rolled them in bread crumbs and shredded parmesan cheese.

Placed them in the oven at 350* for about an hour (we opted to cover it with foil and slit vents into it)

I served it with rice and peas...and I never claimed to be an artist, but I do apologize about the lack of style, but this meal was DELICIOUS!!

Everyone loved it, my husband raved about it, my children ate every bite and I was quite pleased :)

Thank you

A Quiet Sunday

This weekend has been like most weekdays because my husband has been out of town. Yesterday I got a few errands taken care of, and not much housework done. I think this week I'll just aim to take it easy, but in the mean time I need to finish with my Housewife Bootcamp list, my grocery list, and start trying to figure out what I'm going to put on this weeks HB To Do List!

I also want to say thank you to all my followers, wow 36!!! I never really thought I'd end up with any readers, I don't really have a plan for this blog, but I am always up for suggestions on content. What do you want to see? What do you want to know?

Soccer Boy and Butterfly Girl are playing dress-up...I'm not exactly sure what the goal is, but Soccer Boy is looking for a yellow shirt, and is wearing his bright yellow rain boots. Butterfly Girl is, well I haven't seen yet.

Last weekend they played dress up and ended up entertaining us with a Magic Show and then a Crystal Ball reading. It was adorable. Butterfly Girl had her playsilk wrapped around her like a skirt, and tucked into the top of her underwear...it didn't exactly go all the way 'round ;) And at one point was sporting her, very tattered and in desperate need of replacement, butterfly wings from her 4th birthday party. Soccer boy had tied a white playsilk around his head and put a blanket over his head and shoulders to shield the 'crystal ball' and we were enlightened to our futures.

Well, I guess I'm off to move the laundry around, get it folded and tucked away. I hope you all have a blessed weekend!

Saturday's Song

This Saturday I actually don't have a song ready!! I have been focused this week on either feeling like poo, or working on my Housewife Bootcamp list. When working on the list I do have music playing....but then I start feeling like crap half way through the day and everything stops. I have no idea what is going on. I'm going to make some adjustments to my diet and my current lack of real work out, because I would like to avoid going to the doctor. Mostly because I have no idea what my complaint is...and I would probably feel absolutely FINE while at the office.

Hey, I thought of a one! I've been enjoying this song this week....

I love the piano....the lyrics are silly...and the video is just so random!

Join in the fun!!! Tell us a song that's made you feel good this week. Something that's lifted your spirits, or maybe helped motivate or inspire you! Any kind of music!!

No Excuses!! It's Thursday!

That's right! It's THURSDAY!!

I really should have written this up last night, I had no idea that when I got home from signing Soccer Boy up for this season that I would spend the next 2 hours wrestling with the internet. It just does not want to stay connected. In fact, I wonder if it will still be up when it's time to hit POST.

On with it then!

No Excuse Thursday was started by my friend, Michelle. She is currently taking a Blogging Break, but I will link up to her blog later while I'm sitting around doing nothing ;)

No Excuse Thursday is Push Day. It's the day to really push through on getting your weeks 'to do' list accomplished so you can really enjoy your weekend. It's about just getting it done! No excuse!

So for my No Excuse Thursday list I have

  • soccer registration
  • outdoor play time for the kids
  • finish washing laundry
  • finish folding laundry
  • thaw chicken & make dinner

I was not expecting a little girl to wake up at 6:45, and for me to have a pounding headache. I didn't get out of bed until 7:30 when the girl finally decided she couldn't wait any longer for breakfast. (She had been laying in bed with me cuddling) I fed the children, showered, waited for coffee, downed some motrin and headed off to the YMCA. Apparently we were the first to sign up for Fall Soccer, the chick behind the counter was surprised by my inquiry.  BUT, it all worked out and we should know in a few weeks who his coach is, what days they practice and what time their Saturday Game Time will be.

I am very excited. :D

Home to find no internet, send the kids outside so I can do dishes, and fuss at C*mcr@p and try to get some service. Feed them lunch, and then proceed to feel like sh*t for a few hours. The headache is coming back. I'm off to take some more Motrin, drink a glass of water, and fold up the laundry that has been patiently waiting for me all week long.

On the extremely bright side, my children, well, I'm afraid to jinx it...but I'll just say, my children rock :)

SO, Now the challenge is on to you! No Excuses!!! Pick up the badge, sign at the bottom of the post and get crackin!!

If you don't have enough time to get it done today, post your intentions for next week, and join in the fun next Thursday!!

Today on Housewife Boot Camp...

This week's goal included

put away all the clean laundry
finish cleaning the kitchen
sweep and mop the floors
repack and re-pile the items destined for the crawlspace
and, start moving things into the crawlspace

So far, I'm doing pretty well. I would have liked to have gotten a few things down to the crawlspace yesterday, but the rain decided against that. Today, my hip hurts, so I'm not carrying the stuff and hurting myself.

But now we're into our nighttime routine. The kids have eaten, and one is having a few minutes soak in the bath while the other is using his imagination.

Tomorrow, Soccer Registration tops my TO DO list. This will be The Boy's first year playing soccer, hopefully Butterfly Girl too, but she'll be playing in a different league if she plays. The YMCA opens at 5 am. NO, I will not be there THAT early. I am not even getting up until 7:00. If that, but no later than 7:30!! I'm not going to break my neck to get out of here early, but I will wake the children up once I've showered so that all I need to do is feed them and usher them into the van.

And I need to add one more thing to my Boot Camp list....

CHANGE MY OIL!!

A Total Break Down of Motivation

And it's not like I got all that much done yesterday!!! I got less than half my list accomplished, including one failed reduction sauce!! I will not be including pictures and a yummy review, it was *WAY* too sweet, with a bittery-sweet after taste. Ick. But, I can say my chicken was delicious! My husband finished it off on some toasted sourdough with melted munster cheese. (his favorite)

My computer is running very slowly, and my children are running wild. I guess it's time to shut the down for a little while, get more than a little work done, and try to get my children to wind down a bit.
