It's Monday Once Again

Do you ever find yourself searching and searching for something interesting to blog about? I do. All the time. My life just isn't exciting enough to hold anyone attention for long. Example, it's 11:00 and I've gotten nothing accomplished today. Nothing aside from making a pot of coffee, getting a 4 yr old changed into day clothes (well, kinda, she did most of the work), feeding the 4 yr old and 8 yr old. Being proud of their choices in foods. (So I must be doing something right!)

I need to water the garden, empty the dishwasher, put away laundry, supervise my kids playing outside while I do these things. Order a new charger for my phone, as the current one has split and the wires are exposed. I can't exactly let my phone die either! Our VoIP router shit the bed a few months back, maybe longer? Maybe a year now?! While we did replace router, it didn't have a port for VoIP. Which means no "home phone" only cell phone. Thankfully, Vonage forwards calls. So, I should really get on ordering that cord. And at some point this week I need to cut the grass. Oh isn't that a delight! Pushing a lawnmower over nearly an acer in the summer heat, whilst trying to wrangle two children. Yay!

So, forgive my dull post for this morning, perhaps something thought provoking will come past my screen and I'll be able to write something more substantial. But, don't hold your breath. I do at least have a picture worth sharing. When I got up this morning it was feeling very much like a Monday so I decided to combat that by wearing this shirt.

It seems, as I'm waiting on my computer to finish loading the contents of my memory card....that my children have royally abused their camera privileges. I gave my son the camera on Friday when it was raining. I told him to take some pictures, then give it to his sister. Instead they seem to have taken up about 1gig of space making little videos. Sadly none of them are really worth keeping. You can't make out anything in the picture, and it sounds like a bunch of dying cats.

OH yeah!!! I also have these pictures!! Our little caterpillars finally turned to pupae a few days ago. Today I have to hang the little lid in our habitat.....with out disturbing them. BWAHAHAHAHA That should be great fun.

I'll take another picture of all 5 before I destroy, I mean, hang the lid in the habitat, and then I'll take another picture of that. And I'll try to come back and share them before (or for) tomorrow.

Getting To Know You

How to:

Copy the questions
Answer them
Link back w/ the Linky Tool in the bottom of the post!

The questions..

1. What do you look forward to the most on the 4th of July?

I used to look forward to the fireworks the most. But now we live out in the boonies and it just wouldn't be as much fun with a long drive, fighting traffic to get in and out.
2. Are you a hugger?
Yes, and in turn so is my daughter.

3. What is your favorite BBQ'd food?
I most prefer a good pulled pork sandwich for a BBQ, but if it's just a cook out, you can't beat a grilled kosher hotdog.

4. Do you like to watch parades? Not really, I was in a bunch of them in high school, and that kind of killed it for me.

5. Who has stinkier farts..boys or girls? LOL, random much? I guess it would depend on what they were eating! But judging from some stories my husband has from living in the barracks...boys!

6. Vampires or Werewolves? Vampire baby!! Team Cullen!

7. Do you read your horoscope? I do, but not every day. I look for 'weekly' or 'monthly' horoscopes. I feel they give me a more accurate sense than a daily scope could.

8. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? hmmm, if I went right now to get ice cream I would probably leave with mint chocolate chip in a waffle cone. Or a chocolate malt. Tough call!

Happy 4th Of July!!

I hope you all have a happy, and safe, 4th of July!

Saturday's Song

Welcome Saturday!! Welcome Readers!

I have been planning all week on beginning a new "weekly trend" that currently seem to be all the rage on Blogger. I'm participating in {this moment} Friday's, and Fun Follow/Blog Hopping. I was looking to create something more along the lines of This Moment. Only instead of using a picture an no words, I wanted to use music. Music is so important to me, I listen every day. I can clean, cook, play, read, shower, garden, run, cut the grass, etc while listening to music.

I want to share the music that makes me happy, that makes me cry, that makes me dance. Today I was planning to share a song that I wouldn't have even listened to if it weren't for my daughter. Instead, this morning while reading through my Google Reader, another song chose itself to be the one I shared.

While I am a huge Jason Mraz fan and could easily host weeks upon weeks of all his songs, I was trying to avoid doing so, especially two weeks in a row. (Last week I shared the lyrics to Make it Mine, which makes me dance, or want to dance and inspires me to do whatever I am doing, but to make it MINE, all mine!)

This morning on Freshness Factor Five Thousand, Jason told his followers of his trip to Louisiana to help in the clean up efforts. It was nothing like he expected. His post has touched my heart. Go here to read that post.

He also shared a song.

If you would like to participate in Saturday's Song, take this button and display it on your post. And don't forget to add yourself to the list!!

This Moment

A single photo - no words - capturing a single moment. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see.  And to see where this all started, visit Soulemama.

Happy Friday!!

First up the Friday ritual of Blog Hopping!! Where will you go today? I'm going to be hopping around, looking for some new blogs to follow. Hopefully I'll get some 'follow backs' :)

Start here

My Wee View

and here

And here

I appear to be having some blogger issues this morning. After putting the photos on I couldn't add any more text.

Also, if someone could help me out, I haven't figured out how to link a .jpg or .gif to someone else yet.

That said I'm off to do my reading of some of the blogs on the lists :)

No Excuses Thursday!!

That's right! It's Thursday again! My list today is long! I must get to work!!

  • Water Garden
  • Finish my son's winter hat (knitting)
  • Put away folded laundry
  • Fold another basket
  • Put that away
  • Render that work pointless by washing & drying two loads of laundry
  • Empty Dishwasher
  • fill it back up
  • make something delicious for dinner.....I guess I should also add
  • find a recipe for something delicious for dinner (I have frozen grass fed beef and cube steak, and I have raw chicken tenderloins if anyone has any recipes. I'm also craving artichokes....so ya know, feel free to drop me a link or leave your fav recipie in the comments section. If you get it there soon enough, if I need to go to the store, I will! And I'll even take pictures of making dinner and feature it :) wink wink, hint hint!!
  • post to my blog
  • catch up on Deadliest Catch
  • and while this is on the list, if I don't FINISH that's ok..... put away 2nd Grade, and Shelve 3rd Grade materials.
Yes, that's right folks, it's gonna be a long day. I received our 3rd grade curriculum yesterday, and immediately panicked that I still hadn't put away our 2nd grade materials!! EEK!! On top of that the house managed to explode sometime on Tuesday while I was making dinner, and getting myself ready to be out all night. The fact that I did very little yesterday except some dishes didn't help the situation. And THEN when we got home from the farm I found my curriculum had been delivered. Oh my goodness, the mess.

But hey, whatever, I never said I was Martha Steward. Off to water the garden, then back to finish knitting!

Good Morning World.

The down side to seeing a movie opening at 12:01am is the drive home at 2:30, arriving home at 3:30 and getting to sleep finally around 4:00.

However,  even with my poor pre-planning for me and not taking the time to re-read the book, it was my favorite of the four, I loved the movie!!

The colors were brighter than the first, but if I had to pick a color, I would say "gray" was the color theme. But it worked. It wasn't the blue that made everyone look like they were actually made of stone, and it wasn't the orange-y look from New Moon that just made them all look strange. The color was more true, but certainly 'dark'. Like I said, it worked, and I think that's because it gave then sense that it was overcast....and well, duh that's pretty perfect.

The actors, well Kristen Stewart gave pretty much the exact same performance. Though, like Rob she did look more comfortable in this film than in the last two. He was caught giving more than one smile, and managed not to look constipated or in pain. Taylor spent the majority of the movie shirt-less....and 'Edward' makes a comment "doesn't own a shirt?". Funniest was definitely the "I'm hotter than you" comment when Jacob enters the tent in the camping scene.

The story...here is a problem the film industry faces, and yet they like to repeat their attempt over and over. Book-to-Movie. They often leave out characters that are important, or scenes that would have made something make a lot more sense. Or both!! I'm thinking of course of the Harry Potter series, I have not read LotR, or seen those films, but I can only guess they left stuff out of that too. But can I just say, again, WOW! I think they really did a fantastic job keeping the details in the story. They did some combining of scenes and conversations, but they did it well! They still left in all the information necessary to understand what was going on.

I don't know that I can really review much more with out giving it all away. You know, just in case you didn't read it and don't want to know "what happens" I don't want to leave any spoilers. But you won't be disappointed!!

The wardrobe is far better than that of New Moon. Alice looks the type, "Fashionista Vamp" that is. Jasper is commanding in his role ;), Emmett barrels on to the screen over and over again prior to the Battle, and he looks like he's having a ton of fun doing so! Rosalie gives us her story, and has a bit bigger role than previous films. My friend and I had thought at first that it wasn't Nikki Reed, so it was good that the theater was so crowded that we waited for most people to file out, and we watched the credits. It was still her! Esme's roll is much smaller, and she doesn't speak much. I know she wasn't a huge character, but lets just hope they don't forget about her in the next ;) And the wolves! The wolves are AWESOME. I am firmly "Team Edward" (more like "Team Jasper") so do not miss understand me when I speak of the amazing-ness that is the wolves. I just think they're really well done, unlike most CGI effects. They are pretty much exactly as I pictured them in my head. And in this film we see just how big the pack has gotten when we meet new pack members as they prepare for the epic battle against the Newborns.

I tip my hat to the makers of this film, for I am pleased with their offering!! I am not pleased with the headache I have from such a late night, junk-food snacks and of course a very LOUD soundtrack. But all in all it was worth every minute of driving and waiting. Thank you to my friend for the ticket! We are already planning to do a Twilight Party and watch the first three films before we go out and see Breaking Dawn part 1. But, we won't be doing the midnight showing.

If you want more specifics feel free to leave a comment, but do not forget your e-mail address or I won't know how to reach you! I'm happy to answer anything I can!

3:24 am....Post 'Eclipse'

And all I can really say right now is, wow!! I think they did a great job re-telling the book! Honestly!!

Now I will re-read this, and really compare. But it's been about a year since I last read it and my first impression is "Job Well Done!"

Edward SMILED, and Rob seemed to losen up a bit.

All the teeny boppers squeald with delight when Jacob first arrived shirtless. Of course. So did the 40+ something behind me!!

Well, I'll try to be a bit more descriptive in the morning. Good night!!

Stay Tuned!

It is currently Tuesday at 4:57 pm.

At 12:01 I will be sitting in a theater, and Eclipse will grace my screen. Or will it? Stay tuned and I'll be back to update, perhaps tonight, but it might have to wait until tomorrow.

We'll see if my husband is awake or not when I get home around 3 am!

And now that it's 5:21 and I was completely sidetracked by my children...I will finally hit "post"

But not before I put up at least a link to the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows trailer. If you haven't seen it already.....(are you living under a rock?)...it is amazing. I was jumping up and down in my kitchen squealing with joy. Oh yes, I was. Very much like a crazed fan at a concert. Not that I would know, never been to a concert!

ENJOY!!
